Woodson Art Museum co-founder John E. Forester died on April 4, just four days short of his ninety-fifth birthday. As you know, John Forester along with his wife Alice Woodson Forester, who died in 1994, provided the inspiration, vision, and initial financial support to create the Woodson Art Museum. Their nurturing and enthusiasm -- especially for the annual "Birds in Art" exhibition -- were critical to the Museum's growth, leading to worldwide recognition for both the Woodson Art Museum and "Birds in Art."

John Forester's obituary provides additional insight into his many accomplishments and also into his gracious and thoughtful style, which will be missed by all.

Below are two photos of Mort while he was making a Viking Delacasy called Silta Fesk. It is a lunch meat, packed hard and wrapped in cheescloth, pressed and then cured in salt brine for 3 days and is eaten cold on bread. Made with veal, beef, and pork, and many spices. The warriors carried it with them on raiding parties. The Axe is my Norweigen Cleaver.
