The great horned owl is easily recognizable by its distinctive ear tufts and his piercing, fierce expression. His talons and feet are large and powerful as is his presense in this painting. Even surrounded by strong, vibrant colors, this owl overpowers his environment. Sitting erect, overseeing his domain, he appears to be truly regal.
