In the peace and gentle quiet of a frosty morning, a Kodiak, the largest of all bears, has appeared as a brown mountain on the blue-cold meadow. Found on the island of Kodiak, off the coast of Alaska, this sub-species of Brown bear and Grizzley reaches a height of ten feet or more, with the males attaining 1,500 pounds in weight. The largeness of this bear is attributed to it's remoteness and the availability of food. |
